I am waaay behind in the KAL. I just checked the site and a lot of people seem to have the back done already and I haven’t even cast on yet! I can’t seem to work a cable?? I hope this weekend I will make some progress and actually start the real sweater.

I think I have made a successful swatch!  It only took 10 tries. :D 

There are some definite mistakes in a few rows, but you can’t *really* seem to tell.

I haven’t cast on for the KAL yet.  I am still stuck on my practice swatches.  Good thing there’s no time limit. :)  I am still hung up on the YOs….One more thing, I don’t care what they say, plastic needles ARE dangerous.  I totally stabbed my thumb trying to K3tog.  This is a very dangerous project.

Not only did I get another 300 or so songs on the iPod, I knitted my CLKWC swatch today!  I will need to use size 9 needles.  Unfortunately, I don’t have long enough circular needles, so I started on my handy Denise’s. These are great needles but I feel like they snag a bit sometimes.  Also, I am glad I decided to try the lace on some scrap yarn…I am only 2 stitches in and it says to “yarn over”, which would not be a big deal, but I have no clue how to yarn over and the only instructions I can find are for right handed knitters. Of course, I can’t be a normal left handed knitter and use the “continental” method, I literally knit the opposite way of a righty, thus, the pictures aren’t helpful because I can’t even seem to do it backwards like I normally would?!?!  Help!  Someone, please help.

Someday, I’ll be a talented knitter and I’ll write lefty knitting instructions for backwards knitters.  Yeah.

EDIT: I watched knittinghelp.com’s video and I *think* I got it. I guess we’ll see?

Onto more important news, today is Mystery, aka “Puppers,'” very 1st birthday!  Here she is looking very cute:

I had DH stop at Petco for a can of Hobo Chilli and a birthday toy….Apparently, Hobo Chili has been recalled due to botchulism (*yikes*). She seemed happy with what he brought and she appears to love her toy.

All right, so I have not picked up the red scarf nor have I started my kimono swatch.  I have been very busy at the most important task of putting my some 400 CDs on my iPod.  It is very time consuming because I have been listening to them and only putting select songs, I mean, Paula is great on American Idol but really, I only like a couple of her songs….

I have also been surfing the Legal Needles ring.  Maybe I am missing work?  Nah.  It does sound like I may need to cut my month off short a few days though.  The DH/Law Partner has called 3 times this am already with “I think something is wrong with my computer” and “When are you coming back?”  The attorneys know I am coming back soon as well, so the motions are beginning to roll in….  Sigh.

I’m not feeling so hot today, I don’t know if it’s because I have been overdoing it? Or…  At least it’s a nice day out.
