28 DecResolutions – 2020

First of all, how weird is it that it will be the year 20TWENTY? It just seems so futuristic….

I don’t know about you, but my 2019 cannot be over soon enough. I’m so excited for 2020 and looking forward to all it has in store.

Today, I looked back at all my New Year’s resolutions dating back to 2012 when I first started posting them to this blog. How fun is that? I realized a couple of things 1) I rarely complete my resolutions and 2) I haven’t posted very often. Oops. But, I still enjoy a good list and it’s tradition.

So, what shall I work on during this epic year?

Mind

1) enroll in life coach school
2) develop and market the yet to be named perfect planner

Body

3) meal plan every week
4) add more stretching to my workout routine e.g. yoga, PiYo etc.

Fun

5) knit 12 projects
6) ride my bike (!!)
7) go to the golf lessons and golf some rounds with friends
8) schedule, and take, 4 actual vacations
9) paint once a week
10) go skydiving

Home

11) get the garage shelves installed (!!!! – I just realized I bought them over 4 years ago)
12) clean out the basement closet and the garage

I think that’s going to be it. Some of these are pretty big goals… let’s do this thing!

So, let’s take a look at 2019:

For the Mind

1) read at least one book a month from the 1001 books to read before you die list – I never even looked at the list, but I’ve read over 120 books!
2) use the Rosetta Stone Spanish program purchased in 2013 and finally installed on my computer – time to get realistic…I did actually look at the program though! That’s progress.
3) go to church regularly – this still needs work
4) write a book – nope

For the Body

5) get to goal weight – okay, so I got there for a minute. I actually took “goal weight” off the table. Really, I just want to feel good.
6) workout 7 hours per week – working out is part of my lifestyle now. I rocked this goal!
7) do not eat foods on my allergen list – I did pretty well on this! But, I wasn’t 100%. I’m considering it a success regardless.
8) quit smoking. – I actually quit smoking on 01/01/2018. I quit vaping in 10/2019

For Fun

9) go skydiving – no
10) knit from stash – sort of. I didn’t buy new yarn, but I didn’t knit much this year
11) golf – not even once
12) ride my bike – nope…I did get my bike tuned up though! 2020 for sure
13) book trip to Hawaii – no
14) plan trip to Ireland – I did plan a trip! It’s on the list for this year!

For the Home

15) install and organize overhead garage storage – okay, so this one has become an embarrassment
16) complete 91 day de-clutter challenge – no
17) re-take and put into practice Financial Peace University – I did update my plan and paid off some stuff…
