I found the best app today for the iPad – it’s called LogMeIn and it let’s you connect to your computer. I am so happy! I’ve been wanting to be able to use my iPad for some of the programs I use on my laptop and now I can. 🙂
28 AugI love my iPad!
18 MayLYS Tour – Day 3
We did it! Finished up the 2013 LYS Tour today. So fun!
We started the morning out at Churchmouse Yarn & Teas and (as always) found many lovelies. I picked up the yarn and beads for the featured pattern:
as well as some fun yarn for a scarf:
Next, we ferried on back and hit Bad Women Yarn where I picked up the coveted Madeline Tosh yarn:
(Been eyeing some of this for AGES)
Next we headed over to The Tea Cozy Yarn Shop and found a super cute linen scarf:
Then we traveled to Acorn Street Shop and The Fiber Gallery.
Finally, we back tracked a bit and finished the day at Seattle Yarn and So Much Yarn.
Over all, had a fabulous three days of yummy yarn crawling. Cross your fingers for me that I win a prize or two!
17 MayLYS Tour – Day 2
Day 2 of the tour was another success! Today my tour-mate was my MIL Teresa.
We started off the day at the Crafters Co-op in Oak Harbor then headed down to Knitty Purls in Langley where I found my sock blockers at long last! Then, for the second year in a row, Teresa and I made the ferry with perfect timing and got right over the water.
We headed down south to Makers Mercantile in Kent, which is like a knitter’s heaven. I picked up another skein of the t-shirt yarn:
so I can make another fun set of baskets!
After that, we went to The Knittery in Renton and headed back north to an old favorite, Serial Knitters where I found some scrumptious yarn for a super cute scarf/shawlette:
After a pretty crappy freeway trek, we finally got to Main Street Yarn in Mill Creek. Then it was a nice drive over to a new favorite, Country Yarns in Snohomish, where I picked up a potential surprise, and then we took the scenic route to Great Yarns. I swear you can find any specialty sparkly yarn your heart could desire in that store!
Our final destination was out to Pinchknitter Yarns in Stanwood. The only LYS I know of that sells hemp.
All in all a super day! So exhausted, hit it was well worth it.
16 MayLYS Tour 2013 – Day 1
Started my 3rd year touring today and had a super time with Olga checking out the North Puget Sound stores.
We started off at WildFibers in Mount Vernon and checked out the new spacious meeting room. We also met up with my friend Tracy who picked up some yarn and needles for her very first project!
Then, we were off to Knot Just Yarn in Burlington and picked up this scrumptious lovely:
After that, we were off to Ana Cross Stitch in Anacortes. Lots of great stuff to see!
From there, we headed north and stopped at Beach Basket Yarns in Birch Bay and over to Wear on Earth in Lynden (very interesting concept of a yarn/consignment clothing store).
Finally, it was down to Bellingham where we checked out Mrs. Hudson’s Yarns and Tea in quaint Fairhaven.
At NW Handspun Yarns I found this gorgeous yarn:
…and I’m pretty sure a lady was outside spinning dog hair (curious)…
Our last stop was Apple Yarns where I got this super cool gadget:
This yarn ball holder spinny thing is locally crafted and so sweet! I had to have it.
