10 SepJanuary Babies Fall Swap

Everyone knows I love a swap! The Ravelry January Babies Fall Swap was super fun and the best part was I got to knit for a baby girl. 🙂

This is what I sent…

05 SepWell…

I cannot believe how FAST this year is flying by. September. Really? I guess that’s what happens when you have a little one in the house again.

I’ve been busy reading and working on projects. This was the year of finishing WIPs. I did break down and join a couple of swaps.

We also got “back to school” with success….Will have to upload the obligatory pictures soon!

23 JanWish

The first book of the year: Wish by Melina Bellows.

I liked this one. Another story about a set of twins. The focus is on Bella, mainly about her life and the various wishes she has for herself and he Autistic brother, Bobby.

It’s a story of growing up and learning to love the life you’re given.

28 NovGift Knitting

I’ve been working on gifties for my Ravelry swaps like a mad women! There were a couple of hats for the February Baby birth club and a gift set for the January Baby birth club. Next will be something for the December birthday swap and then I’m done swapping. Yes!!

I’ve also been very busy cooking this baby. His nursery should be all painted today and then it’s just a matter of time. It’s been the worst pregnancy ever and the next 6-9 weeks cannot go fast enough.

21 NovCutting for Stone

I finally finished this book.

Cutting for Stone (Vintage)

“It starts with the birth of twin boys to a nursing nun, Sister Mary Praise Joseph, in a small hospital on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; an event which no one had expected: “The everyday miracle of conception had taken place in the one place it should not have: in Sister Mary Praise Joseph’s womb.” The delivery rapidly becomes a debacle when it’s clear that Mary Praise Joseph can’t deliver her baby normally; the last minute arrival home at “Missing” (the Mission Hospital) by Indian obstetrician Hema saves the children, but their mother dies and their presumed father father, surgeon Thomas Stone, disappears into the night.” Amazon book review

I couldn’t really get into it until about the last 30%. But, overall it was an interesting look into life in Africa and I find the medical stuff very interesting..
